HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PIECES
WEAR
The more you care for your pieces, the longer they will last. Metals soften and fade with the years, but follow these guidelines and your pieces may last you a lifetime.
- Wear your sterling silver daily as natural oils on the skin will prevent it from oxidising.
- Avoid contact with cosmetics, perfumes, sunscreens, lotions, and other chemicals.
- Remove your jewellery before going to sleep to prevent accidental breakage.
- Remove your jewellery when washing your hands, showering, or swimming in chlorine or salt water.
- Remove your jewellery before performing any activity that risks physical damage such as cleaning and exercising.
- If you choose to layer your bangles please note that the metal rubbing against metal may affect the wear of the piece.
- Store and clean your pieces accordingly, see instructions below.
STORAGE
Each piece is carefully packaged in a drawstring pouch and box, suitable for carefully transporting your pieces, however, to allow ventilation to your jewellery, we suggest:
- Storing it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight
- Ensure that the pieces are separated to avoid scratching
CLEAN
- Wipe with a soft, cotton cloth after each wear to maintain shine
- Gently rub your piece in one direction, wiping away dirt
- Use polishing cloth every few weeks or when needed, depending on your habits and how often you wear your pieces
- Do not use a brush, this will risk scratching the polished surfaces.
- Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner
OXIDISATION
- An acidic pH level in the body can be reflected through your skin, this can cause oxidisation and discolouration in metals over time.
- Sterling silver can be affected by oxidisation if not worn frequently or stored properly.
- Use a soft, cotton cloth to remove oils after each wear to prevent oxidisation.
- If oxidisation occurs, use a silver polishing cloth to restore shine.
WEAR AND TEAR
- Butterfly backings: Butterfly backings work by using friction to secure the earring in place. With general wear, the backings may become loose. We recommend tightening your earring backings to increase the friction on the post.
- Metal rubbing on metal: If you choose to layer your bangles please note that the metal rubbing against metal may affect the wear of the piece.
- Be gentle with your pieces. We suggest removing them when showering, sleeping & exercising.
